Monthly Tidbit: Tibet
Tibet has been on my dream list of places to visit since I was a kid. Not because I want to climb Mount Everest or anything (I'm deathly afraid of heights, and I'm positive that I would pass out from lack of oxygen), but because the culture, the colors, the food, the religion, EVERYTHING. Tibet is so fascinating to me! One of the things that I've always wanted to see was a Tibetan Monastery; typically, the main religion is Buddhist in Tibet. Because Buddhism is the main religion, the Monasteries take the view that all are welcome (even if for a short time). They share their food, they share their lodging, they share their traditions. It's just such a nice thing! I'm not saying that I agree with the beliefs of Buddhism, but I do like the idea of "love all, no matter what their background or their current status."
Pain is but a doorway to improvement.
